Hawker Beechcraft has selected CAE USA as its ground-based training systems provider for the Beechcraft AT-6 Light Attack and Armed Reconnaissance (LAAR) aircraft. Hawker Beechcrafts's AT-6 was on display at the Farnborough International Airshow in the UK.
CAE's training system includes aircrew and maintenance technician training, design and manufacture of synthetic training equipment, simulator instruction and support services.
The AT-6 incorporates proven training and close air support capability to meet expected LAAR requirements. The aircraft covers a wide mission spectrum that includes training, manned Intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance and light precision attack, while also offering non-traditional capabilities for homeland defense and civil support missions. The AT-6 has significant commonality between the U.S. Air Force T-6A and the U.S. Navy T-6B.
