L-3 Electro-Optical Systems (EOS) demonstrated its new portfolio of night vision products, the Ultima 1600, at Eurosatory 2010.
Designed with Unfilmed Gen III technology, the Ultima 1600 offers best-in-class image performance for state-of-the-art visibility in lowest light conditions. Featuring a higher minimum threshold performance, the ULTIMA reduces image artifacts, providing users with the best image clarity available. Engineered with Unfilmed I2 Ultima Image Intensifier tubes in each product, the 1600 FOM line is now available in M949 Aviator Goggle (AN/AVS-9), M953 Binocular (AN/PVS-15) and M983 Monocular (AN/PVS-18) models.
All Ultima 1600 products include ergonomically designed interface controls and offer hands-free or one-hand operation. They also feature automatic brightness control and high-light tube cut-off protection, and are particularly well-suited for operations where depth perception is critical for mission performance. The M953 Ultima and M983 Ultima products are fully submersible to 20 meters.
