Avon secures Italian Navy contract

Avon Protection, part of Avon Rubber p.l.c., has won a competitive tender worth over half a million Euros for its newest generation of full face mask, the C50. Acting as prime contractor, Aero Sekur will manage system integration for the masks, which will be supplied to the Italian Navy over the coming months.
Avon are the world leaders in the design, build and manufacture of CBRN respiratory protection, providing military, emergency responders, NATO, Special Forces and parliamentary forces with the most advanced products available. One of these products is the C50, Avon’s next generation full face mask, which offers users the highest levels of protection, whilst providing an outstanding field of vision and superior comfort. Italy will be the second NATO country to take this latest generation respirator, developed from the US M50 mask which is currently going into service with all four US forces together with the US Coast Guard.
The C50’s innovative design features enable the wearer to function effectively in the operational area, and is suitable for battlefield CBRN protection, specialist law enforcement and counter terrorism operations. It can be integrated with hydration systems, voice projection communication systems and night vision systems, giving it the versatility to meet every modern soldier’s requirements. With the appropriate filter, the C50 protects against a range of CBRN threats including chemical warfare agents, toxic industrial chemicals and materials, biological and radiological hazards and riot control agents.
